The world is full of wildly different family experiences and they ripple down through the generations. My parents have been married for going on 35 years and appear to be very happy still. I’ve also experienced just how much being the child of a long bitter divorce can screw up someone’s ability to form future adult relationships, in a very painful and first hand way…. That was three years of my life I could have spent with someone else, but in the end I learned important things from it.
Honestly, the two most screwed up people I’ve every met came from intact families, ones that needed to be split apart (oh so badly). People who assume everyone is the same are not very bright and I’m sorry they have such a knack for saying hurtful things around you. 
While you and her dad are together, keep being a model of a healthy relationship for her. She’ll probably need that to look back on so she can trust that it is possible to pick things up and build a relationship with love that can endure through adversity.
